Emu Creek

Why you don't book

Just another reason why you shouldn’t book to far ahead. We have been big believers in not booking too far ahead of time as it can restrict you from experiences & exploring places you find along the way. ⁣

Emu Creek was one of those places we weren’t planning to stay. We were on our way south from Onslow and looking for somewhere and after a quick WikiCamps search we found this station stay with great reviews. ⁣

What to expect

After a couple of hours on the road, we arrived at the entrance to the station. We opened & shut the main gate and drove 10km down the dirt track to the main station. We checked in at the house and paid our $30.00 for the night. ⁣

On the way to the camp we passed a heap of really cool old school classic cars that have been sitting in the yard for years. We were lucky to pretty much have the place to ourselves apart from one other camper. ⁣

Things at camp

The sites are located next to a river system that you can camp right next to. We spun around and backed the the van right up next to the edge of the water. What a bloody spot, complete with a permanent fire pit, shady trees & access to the water. ⁣

Absolutely incredible location, was very impressed with this random WikiCamps search. This is the reason why you shouldn’t plan too far ahead! We would of missed this stunning camp if we had to keep driving past.⁣
