Glen Mervyn Dam

The Dam

If your traveling around the Collie region, you’ll find there are plenty of dams & lakes to explore and camp around. One stunning location being Glen Mervyn Dam, this place was incredible! ⁣

It’s one of the smaller dams but it still has a lot to offer. You’re able to camp right the way around it for free!! A perfect waterfront experience… for free!!⁣

We happened to score a great location by the water where the kids could swim with a shallow beach. Also knowing that we would be near water, we stopped into @anacondastores to grab some inflatable toys. The kids had the best time over our 3 days stay cooling off in the fresh water at every moment possible. ⁣

Our stay was also through the school holidays which meant things were a little more busy than normal with a handful of speed boats cruising around, but it really added to the atmosphere of the place. After a couple days they eventually left (which was also nice lol) so you could really enjoy the dam for what it was. ⁣

All in all, it was a cracking spot with plenty to offer! Definitely could stay here again for a week at least. Fresh water views for nothing, you can’t complain with that. Not to mention, they have a tavern 5mins down the road that does amazing food “the Mumby Pub” do yourself a favor and check it out. ⁣
