Sandy Cape Recreation Park

We were told this was a hot spot for Perth locals to come visit on weekends and can get pretty busy… So busy that you’ll struggle to find a camp spot. This is very true as we experienced when we headed south to spend 2 days exploring the area. But for a good bloody reason: it’s incredibly stunning! ⁣⁣

Our Lucky Day!

Luck must of been on our side the day we arrived as we scored two sites right next to each other only a short walk from the beach. After a day of relaxing & cooking dinner and a few cheeky beers, we managed a sunset on the beach which again was just stunning because it’s WA! lol ⁣⁣

Stunning Beach Access!

Day two we decided to take the cars down to the south end of the beach where you’ll find an access point you can drive onto. It’s only a small area but definitely enough room to fit a ton of cars. At this end you’ll find yourself sheltered by the cliffs and the most amazing crystal clear water to swim & snorkel in. ⁣⁣

Where are the Crayfish?

After talking to a couple of locals, we soon found out that you can swim not far off shore and find a ton of crayfish ???? we tried our luck but were not successful. That aside, we can certainly see why it gets so busy here, it’s just amazing. ⁣⁣

This was an unexpected GEM on our trip! Definitely add it to the itinerary!

Cost $20 per night ⁣⁣
Showers / Toilets ⁣⁣
Dogs Allowed ⁣⁣
Dump Point ⁣⁣

Btw if your heading up towards Cairns that area where all the rocks are stacked up has recently been destroyed by vandals
