“700m down a slippery rocky hillside which gives you access to the bottom pool”
The last big gorge on the Gibb river road this was definitely one spectacular location! One of the best parts about this gorge in particular is that it is a short walk to the gorge itself only a 1km to the top of the falls over a rocky river bed that is definitely easy enough for just about anyone. When you arrive your greeted by the cascading waterfall that drops into the lower part of the gorge. It’s a great sight to experience with a few waterholes to lay in & relax. To access the lower part of the gorge to see the falls in all their glory you have to continue on another 700m down a slippery rocky hillside which gives you access to the bottom pool and the prime viewing location for that famous shot 📸 perfect spot for a swim while you take in that incredible waterfall. Highly recommend the lower walk to the bottom but keep in mind the walk down & back up is steep and rocky, make sure you have good foot wear and take your time.
