“This was in our eyes what free camping is all about”
Definitely one of the best free camps we have found since leaving the Dampier Peninsula in WA, this was in our eyes what free camping is all about!
We found this little gem on @wikicamps Located just outside of Marble Bar, the entry is just a single dirt track off the main road. If your not looking for it, you’ll drive straight past it. The road into camp is short and pretty tame without any dramas and plenty of site options to pick next to the river.
We managed to find this awesome spot not far in, it’s a tricky entry & exit suited more for a off-road caravan setup but truly worth it. Once you’re in, there is plenty of room to setup a fire and position yourself looking out at the river, which by the way, is FULL of spangled perch! A great opportunity for the kids & adults 😉 to have hours of fun catching fish.
There is a good amount of firewood in the area which was one of our highlights of an evening, sitting by the camp fire with a few cold cans while cooking dinner on the Ziggy. This is what it’s all about for us. Definitely a great location and one you need to put on the list. ✅
