The famous Lake Argyle! What a stunning location this place is. After everything we have been told about this place, it has certainly lived up to its name. The caravan park itself is stunning with some of the most amazing sites located amongst big trees that are full of wildlife and the lushest grass you have ever walked on!
One of the biggest highlights of the park is the infinity pool that is located on the cliff edge over looking one of the most spectacular views you’ll ever see of Lake Argyle. It’s one of the most photographed pools in the world. Something you have to experience in person and definitely a bucket list achievement!
The lake itself is a sight to behold as it is Western Australia's largest and Australia's second largest freshwater man-made reservoir by volume. The reservoir is part of the Ord River Irrigation Scheme and is located under an hour away from Kununurra in the Kimberley.
Lake Argyle park also has available a range of villas & cabins with some over looking the water and amazing views. They do supply fuel onsite but at a higher price due to transport costs; still handy to know. They also have a restaurant & bar with a very cool outdoor area. Plus they have on offer a range of lake cruise packages which are definitely the best way to experience the lake it’s beauty and sheer size. You can find all the details on the website at www.lakeargyle.com
You have everything you need right here in one place. We have had the most amazing time here and again, we have almost had the place to ourselves a part from 4 other caravans lol... Another huge plus to traveling up north in the ‘not so wet’ season... There are no huge crowds to compete with and the chance to pick & choose where you want to setup. Best of all has to be having the infinity pool all to yourself though!
