“One thing about this time of year out west in November it’s hot and that means storm weather”
The second stop out of 3 towns while following the Australian Dinosaur Trail. Winton is a great little town with a lot to offer. We managed to squeeze in a few things while staying at the Matilda Country Caravan Park for 3 nights, which by the way had a pool! A big reason we chose that park lol...
We got to checkout the Waltzing Matilda Centre in town which was absolutely crammed packed with amazing history about the town and the origin of Waltzing Matilda & Banjo Patterson. The setup inside is huge and a lot of fun. Definitely recommend checking this one out!
We also visited the musical fence! It’s literally that, a fence you can play the song waltzing Matilda on. Plus a bunch of other crazy setups, the drums were our favorite.
We are suckers for a good pub meal, it’s always been a thing of ours to checkout the local pubs and what they have to offer and the Winton Hotel was a great spot for a cold beer & great food. The beer garden out the back was awesome with green grass and plenty of shade.
One thing about this time of year out west in November it’s hot and that means storm weather ⛈ during the 3 days, we had 2 decent afternoon storms. We love a good storm and they definitely delivered. All in all we really enjoyed our stay, thanks for having us Winton.
Will show you how great the dinosaur attraction was on the next post.
