“I must admit all these hot/thermal springs we have visited lately are definitely not warm or hot”
We are getting so close now to the top end. Katherine was a great stop for us as there was plenty to do. We stayed 4 nights at the Boab Caravan Park in town which is family owned and loved. Each sites has power & water with a concrete slab and access to the pool, laundry facilities & bathrooms... The reception can also help you arrange all of your tour needs while your in town. This park has everything you could ever ask for in this beautiful town! Keep an eye out for the giant boab tree as you enter the park as well.
The first day we headed out of town about 40mins to checkout Edith Falls. What a stunning place, plenty of car parking & complete with a kiosk. The fall’s themselves were beautiful and the swimming area was absolutely massive. They have a very low risk of salt water crocs in the area as they maintain all the inlets with traps & fencing.
On the second day we ventured just down the road to the hot springs in town. I must admit all these hot/thermal springs we have visited lately are definitely not warm or hot lol... They are super refreshing and cool. The springs here in Katherine were amazing, plenty of room for everyone and very kid friendly. Again, the water was just insanely clear & complete with fish.
We also had the opportunity to checkout the local Christmas lights in town. It was such a great experience attending a community event and seeing what they had put together, very creative and beautiful to see. There were plenty of lights and the local community choir sung some wonderful Christmas carols.
