Onslow

A lot of people ask, is Onslow worth stopping in to see? In our opinion, we think it is worth stopping to checkout. It’s a small town with a lot of rich history that you can access around the town. If you’re into history like us, you’ll find this town very interesting. The best way to experience Onslow is by visiting Old Onslow which is located just outside of town. ⁣

It’s basically the remains of the town that was built over a 100yrs ago and still has one building standing which was the town jail. All the cells are still intact, complete with broken glass walls so the prisoners couldn’t escape. The cemetery was very interesting too, reading all the headstones 🪦 and understanding how old everyone was. ⁣

The town itself is small but still has a lot to offer with one of the best playgrounds/skate parks we have seen. A museum that you can visit to get a quick understanding of the history plus a great spot for a bite to eat & drink by the water called the Beach Club. ⁣

We stayed at Ocean View Caravan Park which was great, plenty of new & old sites to choose from by the water with great amenities and activities for the kids. We enjoyed our time in Onslow and would recommend stopping in for a few days. ⁣
