Karijini

Unfortunate Events

We had the opportunity to pull into Karijini National Park which has been on the list of locations to visit for sometime now. We were super pumped & excited to finally see the beauty of this stunning location! ⁣

Unfortunately, we didn’t get the opportunity.. The night before we arrived, the heavens opened up for the first time in months… 🌧 The thing about Karijini is that any amount of rain, small or large, can dramatically change the outcome of what you can do in the National Park. Gorges become slippery and dangerous and heavy rain can cause flash floods which in turn, leads to closures of walks & gorges. ⁣

What to expect

So our time at the park was shortened pretty quickly which was super disappointing but that’s Mother Nature. We feel it was a sign that it wasn’t meant to be yet. Plus, it gives us another chance to come back and do it properly! 🙌🏼 ⁣

For the short period we spent at Karijini, it was incredible! The landscapes and sights are just amazing and colorful, we definitely got a taste of what Karijini had to offer in our short stay. It gets us excited to come back and really make the most of it next time. ⁣

Photos are of Joffrey Gorge, one of the only things open at the time! lol ⁣
