“Wasn’t long till we found a ton of spots to camp”
After our 4x4 bush experience with travelling.campers we were craving some waterfront views. We took a recon drive out to Wellington Dam earlier in the week to checkout the impressive wall and we decided to have a look around for some free camps.
Wasn’t long till we found a ton of spots to camp! So, we packed up and headed for the dam. We aired the cars & caravans down to tackle the 1-2km dirt entry road (which is heavily corrugated) before coming out to a heap of access roads that take you to a number of caravan friendly camping spots.
After investigating a few, we found ourselves a perfect little slice of paradise right next to the water. Great for the kids to swim in the shallows without any worries, secluded & small enough that we had it to ourselves. Sunrise & sunset was just incredible over the water!
Highly recommend if your in the area to checkout around the dam for a great free camping experience! There are plenty of sites to suit many different setups.
